Students in Grade 2 have been practicing their mental math strategies using dot cards and playing subitizing war! First they subitize the dots on their card, then their partners, then they have to use their mental math strategies to add them together! The partner who says the correct number the quickest, gets to keep those cards!
We also practiced subitizing using ten frames. How many ways can you make 5, in a ten frame?
